Remote Machine Intelligence Lab
This practical course provides a comprehensive exploration of robot control and teleoperation, emphasizing three key components: Robot arm, Haptic device, and Drone. Students will acquire both theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills in the domain of teleoperated robotics.
Contents
Robot Control and Telerobotic
- Introduction to the principles of robotics and the control of robotic systems
- Design a teleoperation system for remote interaction and skill transfer
Teleoperation with Haptic Devices
- Guidance on programming haptic devices for remote interactions
- Gain hands-on experience working with virtual reality environments
Drone Manipulation
- Develop a deep understanding of drones and advanced concepts in SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping)
- Implement basic semi-automatic control, collision avoidance, and motion planning to get drones running in simulation and the real-world
Final Project
- Use haptic devices to remotely control the Franka robot to execute desirable tasks;
- Or use haptic devices to remotely control drones to accomplish desired tasks.
